:: About Me
I'm 24, and just got back from 5 months of volunteering at a boarding school in Northern Thailand... I think the next step is to work, in order to save up enough money to go to seminary.

Listening to: Telecast - The Beauty Of Simplicity
I just found out that Don Miller, author of Blue Like Jazz, is going to be giving seminars at Cornerstone. And that, my friends, makes my whole trip even more worth it than it already was. Blue Like Jazz is definitely the best book I've read all year - I am so excited I get to meet and learn from its author! How exciting!!!!!!!!! I'm more excited about him than I am about any of the actual bands! I can barely contain myself.
I was browsing through the entire seminar schedule, and some of the seminars sound so fascinating - I mean, it sounds like they are right on the edge of what is going on in Christian ministry, and in the Church these days. Wow - I don't want to have soaring expectations that will leave me disapointed, but this festival just keeps looking better!
In other news, I've been praying about passion - asking God to give me ever-increasing passion, but also to just descend a spirit of passion in this entire place. And you know what? God answers prayer! It's a beautiful thing that I tend to forget really easily. I think we should go back to building stone altars every time God moves in ways that we can see. ;)
Good night!

Listening to: Sanctus Real - Say It Loud
I think if there's one thing I never want to lose, it's passion. Passion for life, passion for people, but mostly passion for God. I hope I'm a passionate person.
I'm sensing a new wave of passion coming through me. I just want kids and peers and people around me to taste - really TASTE and SEE - the goodness of God. His awesomeness. His wonderful-ness. His beauty.
I want to be the kind of person who wakes up every morning and just takes God in with wonder. His love for me, His creation, His plan for me - I want these things to move me!
I want every second of my life to be a response to Him.
I want to rediscover the power of prayer (I'm on my way, I'm on my way...).
I know I already quoted this way back in January. But since I said it would be my "year-verse", here it is again...
"Take in with all Christians the extravagant dimensions of Christ's love. Reach out and experience the breadth! Test its length! Plumb the depths! Rise to the heights! Live full lives, full in the fullness of God." [Ephesians 3:18-19, The Message]
God, help me do this!! Help me experience You to the fullest!! I love You!

Listening to: Coldplay - Parachutes
I'm having a Coldplay phase. I'm a little behind the times, granted, but wow, these guys ROCK!
I am going to Cornerstone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (still have to buy plane ticket, though)
Saw Norah Jones yesterday evening. I can't believe she is my age. Craziness.
I haven't really had any profound - or even shallow - thoughts of late... Life's just passing me by, it seems sometimes.
